Backend Engineer - Position Overview:
The Backend Engineer, under general direction, creates and modifies new and existing software involved in the full system life cycle and is responsible for coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software.
Our company: We installed the first Bitcoin ATM in Florida and since then, we’ve grown the Bitstop network to hundreds of Bitcoin ATMs nationwide with hundreds of thousands of customers processing over a hundred million dollars in Bitcoin transaction volume per year. We now license and distribute our technology to other traditional ATM operators who want to own and operate their own Bitcoin ATMs.
Job Position: Backend Engineer
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
-Designs, builds and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
-Resolves production support issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, debugging, configuration, and testing.
-Provides post implementation support to ensure smooth transition to production of all services released for production.
-Designs and develops software applications using Python, .Net Core, Ruby, JavaScript, JSON, Docker, Rest Services, AMQP, Postgresql.
-Interfaces with the business, technical staff and other domains to shape requirements and direction of technology and support project related activities.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of Ruby or Crystal and its ecosystems Knowledge and familiarity with Rails or Crystal, MVC, and RESTful Ability in creating database schemas that represent and support business processes. Ability to quickly absorb technical information. Ability to work independently on assignments. Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge of creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components. Knowledge in project planning, design and implementation Experience with source control, especially GIT Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Backend Engineer- Desired Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in Ruby, Crystal, C# or Python. 5+ years of work experience in backend development. Experience with microservices architectures. Experience creating and consuming REST-based APIs and Web based applications. Experience in SQL and Postgres database preferred.
Must be able to speak fluent English
Bonus points:

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 (Depending on experience) per year
