Title: Senior Fullstack Developer
This is a vacancy for a Full Time Employee (would not be suitable for a contractor)
Location: Remote but must be based in the US
Reports to: Delivery Architect
What will you be doing?
At NearForm, we work with international clients who are industry leaders in their respective fields. Our role is to help them build solutions and platforms; help them to launch new product ventures and fundamentally change how they operate.
Join a highly-skilled multidisciplinary team; typically consisting of designers, front-end and back-end experts, DevOps engineers, and also members of the client team. This mix follows a modern agile development methodology where we run 2-week sprints with a defined backlog, daily standups, weekly demos, sprint planning and sprint retros; all with as little ceremony as necessary.
Job purpose:
Help our enterprise clients translate their needs into functional and appealing interactive applications. Responsible for building all aspects of these applications.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Build applications using Node.js and React.js
- Validate solution design through active participation
- Support component design, development and maintenance and take responsibility for personal technical quality standards within the project team
- Assist with defining structured practices especially in source code management, building and deployment
- Design and implementation of data storage solutions
- Implement security and data protection
- Execute meticulous automated unit tests in line with best practice
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Use appropriate tools to maintain version control and build processes
- Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and clients. Assisting with the analysis of client requirements
- Work with and support the Delivery Architect (team lead) in project execution and timely delivery
- Collaborate with front-end, back-end developers and designers
- Write documentation and guides
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
- Contributing to NearForm tooling and open source projects
- Understanding and embracing the NearForm culture

Specific Job Skills:
Able to be involved on all sides and at all times of the application development process. Motivated to stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
- 6+ years experience developing at an enterprise level
- Evidence of real-world delivery of solutions and platforms
- Experience with a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- An ability to perform in a dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
Technical skills:
The ideal candidate has experience in the following technologies:
For Front-end:
Experience with:
- JavaScript Frameworks must include React
- HTML and CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
- Best practice and design patterns, such as CSS paradigms (OOCSS, SMACSS, and BEM)
- Ajax, JSON and RESTful web services
- Best practice front-end security, familiarity with OWASP top 10
- Modern knowledge of front-end performance
- Build tools such as Gulp, Grunt, Browserify and Webpack
- Versioning tools, in particular, GIT
- Browser testing and debugging
- Cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Layout aesthetics, responsive design and mobile web development
For Back-end:
Experience with:
- JavaScript must include Node.js
- SQL and document-oriented databases
- Ajax, JSON and RESTful web services
- Versioning tools, in particular, GIT
- Testing and debugging
- Cloud architecture and administration
- Systems integration
What do we ask of you?
- 6+ years experience developing at an enterprise level
- Modern DevOps mindset using best of breed open-source tools and technologies, for example, Terraform and Ansible
- Experience working with containers and container orchestration must include Kubernetes
- Experience managing and automating real-world platforms/applications on AWS
- Experience with Continuous Integration and the building of continuous delivery pipelines
- Security awareness throughout the stack
- Data storage experience with RDBMS and NoSQL technologies
- Experience working in a Remote Agile environment
- Located in US
- Availability for short-term travel on a semi-regular basis
- Fluent English and outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
