Do you know the difference between Product Manager, Product Owner, and Technical Product Engineer?  We are looking for someone who can play a role that is roughly 40% product manager, 40% product owner, and 20% technical product engineer.  So in order to be successful you should know the 'answers' to these questions.
  • Do you know the difference betweeen SCRUM/SCRUMBan/Kanban styles of agile team/backlog management?
  • Do you cringe when someone writes affect when they mean effect?
  • Do you pay pay attention to detail?Do you have experience working with all members of a modern dev team, interacting with clients to work out the difference between the requirements as stated and the actual underlying business need?
  • Do you know how to work with end-users and dev team to figure out how to adjust requirements to simplify tasks for fast execution and impact?
You may be the person we are looking for.Just your typical impossible to find product nerd who dreams in user stories and knows how to ask the dumb questions while sounding smart.
Here’s a partial list of some of what you’ll be doing:
  • Working with senior leadership to define a vision and roadmap for the product we work on
  • Coordinating design and engineering work to ensure they meet with product roadmap
  • Being responsible for creation and maintenance of product documentation, including developer and system guides, product usability design definitions.
  • Managing the backlog by working with other stakeholders to plan sprints and releases
  • Capturing requirements epics from users and other customers and break them into executable user stories
  • Organizing and oversee testing of items coming out of the development pipeline
  • Reproducing bugs and adding them to the backlog
  • Responding to daily interaction with clients
  • Coordinating availability of reports on SLA attainment and other similar product performance metrics
So what kind of person are we looking for?
  • Self-motivated and highly adaptable 
  • Passion for software and how to make software better
  • Knows how to work very closely with the dev team, and ideally has some direct coding experience
  • Very good writing and communications skills
  • Patient
  • Experience working in professional services and delivering work to clients
  • College degree and at least 5 years of work experience
  • Prior experience with this kind of work is an absolute must.
