Data Scientist

Our platform leverages Event Sourcing which means our core database is composed of immutable, structured events. Each event represents an action that happens to an entity at a given point in time, providing the finest level of time-series data granularity.
We have a solid engineering team and we are building our data science capability, so we are looking for highly talented individuals with a deep understanding of data science concepts and tools as well as exceptional communication and team building skills.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end experimentation and development of data science projects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, ideation and well-architected implementation of production grade, machine learning models
- Learn complex domain concepts in a short amount of time while bringing on board a fresh perspective with the end goal to achieve a deep understanding of the business, product and data architecture
- Advocate for a data-driven culture throughout the entire organisation and evangelise data science best practices to increase our technical bar on long term maintainability, teamwide knowledge sharing and our ability to attract world-class talent
- Leverage analytics, data visualisations and data-backed heuristics to discover, validate and deliver highly efficient data insights to support strategic business decisions at an executive leadership level
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing production grade data science projects
- Solid background or equivalent in a scientific field, e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Natural Sciences
- Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Well-versed in multiple programming languages and data science tools such as Python, R, Haskell, NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, JupyterLab
Where will this role be based?
InDebted is a remote-first company with offices in Sydney, Manila, London, Toronto, Montreal, and Missouri. Work from anywhere you like, as long as you have a good internet connection and at least a 4-hour overlap with Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) during business hours. Most of our Product and Engineering team is Sydney based.
