Staples US Retail is transforming our stores into the definitive Working & Learning destination for local communities. In support of these efforts, we are designing and building a new and differentiating brand and a digital experience that is “mobile-first” and focused on activating and engaging the local communities surrounding our stores. We are seeking a passionate, highly creative digital Digital Product Design Lead to produce differentiating and esthetically pleasing mobile applications and web experiences. You will work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization and ensure that our solutions for customer needs and our new brand promise will come to life through a compelling digital experience.
Enable and impact our digital transformation:
  • Produce designs for our new digital experience encompassing Community, Content, Loyalty and eCommerce elements
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Developers, and other team members to ensure that desired business outcomes are delivered in the most effective and pleasing manner through our digital experience
  • Work closely with Store Experience, Field Operations and Marketing stakeholders to ensure that our new digital experience is directly aligned with day-to-day store operations and our physical world presence
  • Serve as the trusted authority for ensuring designs embody our brand strategy, purpose, positioning as well as its look and feel
  • Maintain a big picture view of the overall digital experience ensuring that features, functions and designs come together in a manner that is relevant for meeting our customers’ needs
 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of digital design experience in a Retail or Direct-to-Consumer context
  • Highly collaborative team player who trusts her/his colleagues and partners
  • Comfortable leading mixed teams of internal and external resources
  • Highly empathetic to customer wants and needs, and intuitively know how they could translate into experience design
  • Open minded and creative in your approach to customer experiences, ready to change a design or even start from scratch regardless of personal biases
  • Familiar with best practices and are in-tune with the latest industry and consumer trends
  • Well versed with design processes, agile methodologies and iterative ways-of-working
  • Experienced in building scalable consumer facing digital products and the design nuances that are typically required for ensuring their success
  • Comfortable working independently, with limited direction or guidance but also highly accountable and respectful of commitments
  • Familiar with privacy legislations and their implications on customer facing user experience designs
  • University graduate who possesses a relevant degree or an equivalent level of real-life experience
