Data and Analytics Lead

Float

Who We Are
Float, the world’s leading resource planner is looking for our first Data & Analytics Lead to help us discover and validate growth opportunities using data. We’re a team of people living our best remote work lives. From New York to Melbourne, Canada to South Africa - our team of Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing and Customer Success folks work asynchronously to help teams plan and manage their time better. Float is self-funded, profitable, and growing. If you’re aligned with our values and are looking to join a team that’s passionate about helping others work and live more productively, we want to hear from you. Here are a few tips from our CEO to make sure your resume stands out from the crowd.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone experienced in data and analytics who has been part of the startup to scale-up journey in the SaaS industry. You have demonstrable knowledge building out the analytics stack, data warehousing, ETL & ELTs, and always ensure data is clean, consistent, and accessible.
We expect that the successful candidate will have significant expertise in the following areas:
  • Experience with building out and managing the analytics stack for a cloud-based scale-up (ideally B2B SaaS)
  • Understanding of relational databases (MySQL), writing SQL queries, and programming languages (R/Python)
  • Skilled in relevant analytics services, which may include BigQuery (ideal, as we already use Google), Segment, dbt, Looker, Mode, Tableau
  • Experience with cloud computing (GCP)
  • Led experiments including A/B and multivariate testing
  • Worked with multiple discipline stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Sales)
We're looking for someone capable of not only answering questions but asking them, and to deliver insights that accelerate growth across the business.
What You’ll Do
As our first Data and Analytics role, you will define the domain for Float and be the go-to for quantitative insights. You’ll be hands-on defining and executing our analytics stacks from data warehousing, to modelling, transforming, and visualizing.
You’ll work closely with Float’s CEO, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to answer questions that inform and validate growth opportunities and help measure success across functional areas. You’ll empower our team to make better decisions using data, including the development and distribution of dashboards and self-serve solutions.
Your work will be measured by material improvements to the success of Marketing, Customer Success, and Product - with a focus on onboarding optimization (lead to customer). Over time, your work will also help establish metrics for departmental OKRs.
Asynchronous is the default form of communication at Float, and we have very few meetings, so you’ll have long stretches of time to focus on deep work. Everyone at Float leads by example and sets the bar for quality.
