The Director, User Experience (UX) is in charge of leading a team of User Experience (UX) Designers across product lines, overseeing both internal and external resource work. The Director, UX is responsible for conceptualizing how learners interact with our critical skills content. The Director, UX identifies and implements systems-level design solutions that decrease design time and get courses to market on time.  
Responsibilities:
  • Identify and implement systems-level design solutions that decrease design time and get courses to market faster.
  • Work alongside Project Managers, Product Managers, and Product Design Directors to execute and lead a regular cadence of user testing and iteration is built into the course build schedule, overseeing execution and resulting iteration efforts.
  • Collaborate with Learning Experience designers (LX) to connect learning objectives with clear, engaging, meaningful interactions.
  • Lead stakeholder reviews, testing sessions and iteration based on findings.
  • Collaborate with Product Design Directors, oversee initial build timelines and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Work with Course Development Team during the dev process, ensuring developers have the necessary artifacts, specs, wireframes and technical details needed for an efficient build process
  • Lead the development of wireframes, prototypes, course shells and other cross-functional UX artifacts.
  • Identify and implement systems-level design solutions that decrease design time and get courses to market faster.
  • Partner with LX designers to create learner personas that guide course design and interactivity
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years of experience in UX design, preferably in product/software design, in-house or agency
  • 5 years of experience of successful management and/or external staff and relationships
  • Expertise in Figma (preferred)
  • Ability to explain and document complex design concepts into clearly defined scope and specifications
  • Working knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3
  • Experience using methodologies such as Agile and Design Thinking
  • Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for accessible web design preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Ability to present a portfolio demonstrating experience with User Experience (UX) design, prototyping, front-end development, user research and/or experiment design
