About the Role
As a Product Owner, you’ll be playing a key role in helping Power Diary build “the right thing” and crafting the strategy to evolve our existing application into a product that has the potential to keep growing and cater to the needs of our rapidly growing diverse user base. You will partner with the engineering leadership to execute on the product roadmap, ensure product needs are well understood, and engineering resources are used towards initiatives that drive forward company objectives. Ultimately, you will work to increase the velocity of product improvements and continually improve the extent to which the product meets the needs of our customers.
On a daily basis, you will be identifying the right problems, asking the right questions, grooming and prioritizing our product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders and the development team, translating work into backlog items, defining acceptance criteria and verifying that they are met.Does this sound like you?
  • You’ve already held a product leadership role at a small or medium-sized company working on a SaaS product for a number of years - this is not your first rodeo.
  • You thrive working in fast-paced Agile environments and distributed teams.
  • You are comfortable with online collaboration tools (like Slack, Jira, Confluence, Zoom) and they are indispensable parts of your virtual office.
  • You are a self-starter and know how to get things done while working remotely.
  • You love to keep things organized, whether it’s the product backlog, feature requests, or product knowledge. Any time you see a mess, you can’t help but put it in order.
  • You enjoy working closely with developers and business stakeholders and collaboratively prioritize, make informed decisions, and drive product development iterations.
  • You excel in breaking down complex feature requests into small, measurable components and accurately document them by creating user stories, and grooming them with the development team.
  • You have a strong user-centric mindset, and you know how to collect user feedback and put it into actions.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate and build consensus.
  • You take an economic view to balance business and technical issues.
  • Your aim for shared understanding rather than shared documentation.
  • You know what INVEST stands for and what the 3Cs mean, in fact you recognize Story Smells from blocks away.
  • You excel at defining and measuring key performance indicators to evaluate and better understand product value.
  • You own the product roadmap (in collaboration with the Chief Product Owner) to define goals, features and metrics for success.
  • You are comfortable collaborating with executive management to refine product roadmap goals and features.
  • You are a visual thinker who is able to translate complex features into low fidelity wireframes and clickable prototypes.
