Praxis Continuing Education and Training

Time zones: EST (UTC -5), CST (UTC -6), MST (UTC -7), PST (UTC -8), AKST (UTC -9), HST (UTC -10)
Do you love writing to connect with an audience?
My name’s Carrie and I’m looking for an articulate and resilient person to join my small team as a versatile copywriter and flexible team member.
If you're someone who...
  • Enjoys learning complex concepts and distilling them into stories that meet people where they are
  • Writes effectively and quickly (with proper attention to detail, and a love for the English language)
  • Has grit and determination to keep trying until you solve a problem or learn a new skill
  • Is open to feedback and happy to receive and give kind, constructive critique
  • Loves connecting people with solutions, and enjoys the process of writing for effective sales outcomes
  • Can be depended upon to meet deadlines and produce at a consistently high level
  • Gets excited at the prospect of fast-paced and varied work with quick turnaround
  • Wants to further hone world-class skills in a setting with huge potential upward mobility
  • Feels passionate about helping people around the world find effective support and solutions for mental health
...This could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
Apply to become an integral member of my small team at Praxis Continuing Education and Training, where I am Director of Marketing, and to be part of marketing top-tier online courses in the mental health space.
The role will include duties as diverse as creating narratives for course launches, writing emails and sales pages, drafting ads and social posts, editing/proofing, conducting online research, and editorial note-taking. Additionally, you’ll be communicating with clients and course members directly, from the earliest stages of research all the way through course launches, when you’ll have the opportunity to help with customer support and hear directly from the customers who are responding to your copy.
The common thread throughout these tasks is fast and effective written communication, which is the foundational skill you would bring to the role. With so much going on, you’ll be glad to have solid self-directed time management and organizational skills, too.
You’ll be working directly with world-renowned experts in the mental health space, so you’ll need enthusiasm for learning about a variety of therapy approaches, some of which can feel a bit technical at first. Much of our content has an academic or intellectual flavor, so you’ll want to simplify wherever possible to be as conversational as you can within the space. Ultimately, you’ll help connect our customers (psychologists, social workers, behavior analysts, counselors, and others) with continuing education courses that will help them become more effective in their work with clients.
If you’ve always wanted to do work that helps people overcome many kinds of suffering in order to pursue lives of purpose, please apply!
DETAILS
The position will start at around 10–15 hours per week, but ultimately increase to something approximating full-time, and pay will be set at a fair hourly rate. This position will begin as an independent contractor position, but full-time employee status could become a possibility in the future for the right person.
We are a remote company, so you can be based anywhere in the United States to apply.
Your work schedule can be largely flexible (with occasional exceptions), so being a self-starter with initiative is a must. However, you should have some regular availability for meetings during normal business hours in the continental U.S. You will also need consistent and reliable access to high-speed Internet for video calls.
Applicants with writing experience from diverse backgrounds are welcome. There is no specific minimum requirement for professional experience, but we are looking for someone who is already an excellent writer – and prior training in sales copywriting specifically will likely be a huge advantage.
Familiarity with psychology and/or acceptance and commitment therapy is also a plus.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply, simply write to opportunities@praxiscet.com with a short note on why you think you could be the right fit for the role, along with a sample of your best copywriting. Please use the phrase “Copywriter Job Inquiry” in your subject line to guarantee your message will end up in the right place. We’ll be reading every incoming email personally – no AI or algorithms at work here – so you can give us your best human-to-human pitch.
Please do not include a CV – all that matters is whether you can do it.
There's no deadline for getting back to us, but the sooner you do, the better chance you’ll have.
We won't be able to get back to everyone, but those whose notes and copy samples stand out should get a response within a week or two.
No agencies, please. We’re looking for an individual we can help grow and nurture in their career, and who will become a fully integrated member of our close-knit remote team.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to reading your application!
