We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join the engineering team at Modus. Want to help our client’s build awesome solutions to accomplish their goals and vision? Are you interested in working from home with some of the best talent on the planet? Then keep reading.
About You
You love building great software, you have a deep understanding of architecting applications and object oriented programming. You are able to visualize and architect systems and/or system components along the full technology stack. This includes identifying and understanding business logic and converting that into actionable technical tasks.
Advanced/Expert level understanding of data storage, data structure, and API design is your core capability.
Our client’s tech stack is Javascript/Vue.js for the Front end, PHP/Laravel for the Back end, and AWS for deployment. We use modern tools, which means you’ll have the opportunity to work with technologies like Webpack, Redux, Apollo, Styled Components, AWS (ECS, S3, RDS, Fargate, SQS, and SNS), MySQL, Behat, Selenium and much more.
You bring strong experience on the backend development in Laravel. You have no problem writing automated tests with Dusk and/or PHPUnit. On the server side, you should be able to create algorithms and business logic to manipulate data that is received from the client side. You understand Agile software development, DevOps practices, and can work closely with QA teams to optimize your code.
You relish creating high quality code from the comfort of your own home. You have exceptional troubleshooting/problem solving skills which you use to come up with reasonable, thoughtful, and practical solutions to technical problems. You consistently find a nice balance between simplicity, business value, and technical purity.
You have no problem taking on business-critical responsibilities and managing risks. You regularly help with keeping ongoing projects clean and organized while assisting in project planning and work estimation.
You love learning. Engineering is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet. You are self-driven, self-learner willing to share knowledge and participate actively in your community.
Having overlap with your team is critical when working in a global remote team. Modus requires all team members to overlap with EST morning hours daily. In addition, reliable high speed internet is a must.
