- Build and manage systems and services in ESXi, AWS, and Azure environments
- Enterprise Security and Compliance
- Architect and scale cloud networks
- Configure and support Microsoft 365, AzureAD services
- Work closely with other teams to facilitate the success of company projects and operations
- Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems
- Performs a variety of tasks and has a wide degree of creativity and ingenuity
- Makes decisions regarding own work; makes recommendations regarding the organization
- Disseminates and receives information in well-defined or ambiguous situations with attention to details
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to find solutions to challenging technical puzzles with atypical constraints
- Enjoys tinkering and finding simple but secure solutions to technical challenges
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills
- Relies on extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Understands organization’s strategy and objectives
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers
Education and/or Experience:
- 8+ years of proven working experience as a Systems Engineer or equivalent practical experience in IT security or administration
- BS degree in Management Science or related technical field or advanced degree
- Professional Certification in at least one major technology provider
- Advanced PowerShell and Python scripting experience
- Advanced experience with designing, configuring and daily operations of Microsoft 365 services
- Experience with cost governance, security and compliance of cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience working with solutions commonly seen in large enterprises, such as:
- Mail infrastructures (Exchange/EOL/hybrid, Lotus Notes, Google Workspace)
- Directory services (Active Directory)
- Virtualization (VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V)
- Windows and macOS Configuration Management (WorkSpace1)
- Endpoint protection (Defender ATP, Red Canary, Carbon Black)
- Firewalls (Palo Alto, Sophos, Cisco, pfSense, iptables)
- Proxies (WebSense, Blue Coat, Squid, etc.)
- Prefer experience with:
- IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation
- DevOps CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Chef, Puppet
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) and SSO implementations
- Enterprise monitoring and reporting tools such as Splunk, vRealize
- SOC, Cybersecurity incident response (CIRT) awareness
