UI Engineer

Fantastic opportunity for a UI Engineer with strong experience— to work remotely, to improve and implement modern design approaches, and to provide UI quality assurance on our flagship products: Award Force and Good Grants. We serve hundreds of clients globally, millions of users, and growing, and the successful applicant will have a serious eye for design, and for potential UI and UX improvements.
We're looking for someone with a background in user interface and user experience design and execution. Together with our Product and Engineering teams, you'll help drive UI innovation, and provide input and strategy to achieve user experience excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement UI components to support business requirements.
- Look for areas of improvement (Kaizen) to implement in future sprints, consistently updating and upgrading our UI and UX to stay cutting-edge.
- Work closely with our full-stack and backend engineers, matching front-end requirements with the necessary server-side features and support (such as API endpoints).
- Think outside the box to come up with novel solutions for challenging problems.
- Research cutting edge frontend developments, providing invaluable knowledge when the time comes to implement newer technologies.
Requirements & experience
We're more interested in enthusiastic, fast learners, eager to continuously learn and improve skills, with care and a real passion for people and technology, over somebody that can tick every one of these boxes - ideally, you have a mix of many of the following:
- Have 5+ years of experience in design, build and support of modern, slick user interfaces.
- Have an eye for good design, as well as implementing simple designs that support complex requirements.
- Have a world of experience in various front-end technologies, such as CSS, SASS, native JS, Vue JS, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc.
- Have an innate desire to improve solutions long-term, whilst also getting on with briefed tasks.
- Have several years experience working with engineering workflows i.e. Agile development, pull request submission and management, code review, ability to write and run tests, etc.
- Have knowledge of modern approaches of development, as well as excellent architectural understanding.
- Experience with backend services such as API consumption a necessity.
- Be able to communicate ideas effectively.

Creative Force is the industry-leading cloud software for organisers of awards, grants, scholarships and pitch competitions to manage submission, evaluation and award of results, online.
We provide the platform to accept and manage awards entries/applications, allocate them to judges/evaluators who then do their judging online, all the while providing organisers clear visibility on how their program is going.
