SemaphoreCI.com is looking for someone who is passionate about helping software engineers write and share their knowledge with the community.
The Technical Content team raises awareness of Semaphore within the developer community by contributing approachable, high-quality articles on a variety of Continuous Delivery and Software Engineering topics. All members of the team are united by a strong technical background, an interest in teaching and helping developers, and a passion for creating the most useful learning materials possible.
As a Technical Editor, you will manage the editorial calendar, work with writers and other team members in creating technical content, and own the traffic KPIs. This role will have high visibility across Semaphore and you will collaborate with stakeholders in other departments including Product, Sales, and Customer Success. The ideal candidate will have a hybrid background in software development and writing/editing.This position is available both full-time and part-time.Responsibilities
  • Being on top of the software development industry.
  • Having a deep, hands-on understanding of Semaphore.
  • Planning themes and topics that are aligned with Semaphore's brand and interest of the software development community.
  • Delivering feedback and developing relationships with authors to encourage repeat contributions. 
  • Growing traffic to Semaphore blog.
Requirements
  • Previous editorial, content writing, or blogging experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to research new and unfamiliar subjects.
  • Demonstrated experience in learning new technology quickly.
  • Some Linux experience (should be able to build and deploy projects, and navigate the command line).
  • Familiarity with developer interests and culture.
  • Strong interest in learning about continuous integration, configuration management, application deployment, cloud operations, and test-driven development.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Being self-managed and capable of making effective decisions.
  • Bonus: Full-stack development experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Bonus: Formal or informal experience with teaching or mentoring.
