We’re looking to grow our engineering team with a full-stack engineer to join us on our mission to provide essential tools to help small businesses get off the ground and grow. We’re looking for a customer-focused product engineer to work on creating delightful product features for our customers. If you’re an engineer who loves the opportunity to tackle both customer and product orientated problems, we’d love to hear from you!
Buffer is an equal opportunity employer with teammates all around the world. Our team is made up of individuals who hail from startups to the theatre - we value diverse and non-traditional backgrounds, and encourage all those who are interested in joining the Buffer journey to apply.
We're aligned through our values and we celebrate our unique differences. We value creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and are actively working on building a culture where under-indexed groups are truly welcome and can flourish.

Who You'll Work With

We have an open position in our Labs team where you will focus on building new products to help small businesses or ambitious individuals grow their organic reach.  The goal of this team is to move fast and experiment with different ideas to find new products with a good market fit.
You will report to an engineering manager and work closely with a team of 3 other engineers supported by a product manager, a designer, customer advocates, and marketing managers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be working within our product engineering team to build new products and new product features.
  • Our front-end applications are built using React with GraphQL as the interface to our backend services, written in Node & PHP.
  • You will contribute to our engineering standards to continuously improve the consistency and quality of our codebases and processes.
  • You will also collaborate with other product engineering teams to facilitate integration of new products and product features into our existing tools.
  • We're agile, use continuous integration and continuous delivery, deploying to production every single day.
  • You will work on bug fixes and improving application performance.
  • As you gain context, you’ll provide technical guidance to teammates and insight into technical decisions to product managers.
The engineering team at Buffer is highly collaborative. We try to be“No Ego Doers” and call out our own assumptions. You will collaborate with the rest of the engineering team through code reviews as you work to build new features for our customers.
