We're looking for a business oriented, highly inquisitive, and data savvy BI Lead Analyst who is eager to leave his or her mark on a game-changing product in eCommerce. Someone that has the passion to transform data into stories through visualization tools, and someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to help executives and senior team leads formulate strategies through data-driven insight.
On our team you will have the opportunity to partner with executives, functional senior leaders, and engineering as we seek to make every business decision a data-driven one.
*This is a full-time remote position available to folks located in the US.
As a BI Lead Analyst at TaxJar you will
- Define reporting requirements that align with company and business unit OKRs in collaboration with functional leads at TaxJar
- Partner with engineering to ensure our data warehouse architecture aligns with reporting requirements (both from a metrics and a timing perspective)
- Design and manage a comprehensive suite of dashboards based off of key reporting requirements
- Build SQL queries at the application level (Tableau) where necessary
- Manage our Tableau instance end-to-end, including user management, provisioning, permissions, subscriptions, job scheduling, and site architecture/design
- Design new metrics and KPIs to support growth initiatives
- Lead the creation of critical data elements/metrics related to internal reports and presentations, including board readouts and comprehensive monthly metrics reporting
Requirements
- 4 - 8 years of experience working in highly saturated data environments as a BI Analyst (or similar)
- Mastery of Excel (or similar) and Tableau
- Advanced knowledge of critical AWS features, including Redshift, S3 and Athena
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Workbench, or similar query tools
- Working knowledge of ETL strategies and query optimizations
- Ability to write clear and accurate documentation around how data are populated from the source system to the warehouse, right down to the BI layer
- Be accountable for the metrics you are creating and sharing

- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Passion for solving complex business problems through data-driven storytelling
- Excel at communicating with the team remotely (chat, video, email, etc)
