Sr. Shopify Engineer

We are a Shopify Digital Media Agency in search for a special candidate to be our a Sr. Shopify Engineer to join our team. Specialized in developing Shopify & Shopify Plus websites, across both desktop and mobile environments on the Shopify platform. We need someone who's English is fluent & can be client-facing. With the ability to complete bug fixes, document requirements & estimate new projects. If you've done Shopify Engineering & interested in scaling a dev team this is perfect for you.You'll be managing 5-6 Shopify clients who have multiple stakeholders. High-level communication, emotional intelligence & technical acumen is key. As our first line of defense, you can mitigate urgent escalations that need immediate development attention & be able to enhance our Project Management/Development Workflow.We provide two overseas Development teams for you to lead & grow. Direct Shopify experience is a hard requirement. We need someone who knows Shopify like the back of their hand & can lead.
Education:
BS in computer science or a similar degree is desirable. Some formal training and/or certification is required.
Required Skills:
5-7 years developing Shopify themes.
Preferred Skills:
- Expert knowledge of Shopify and proficient in its templating language (Liquid)
- Highly skilled with front-end languages including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Familiarity with Shopify’s component libraries
- Proficiency in responsive design principles
- Integrating with Mobile apps
- Knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and data transformations
- Ability to identify areas in code or our processes that can be streamlined
- Ability to write unit tests and/or specs
- Solid grounding with common design patterns and development best practices
- Customer-first mentality with the ability to empathize with customers and their needs
- Strong drive to continually improve and to stay on the cutting edge of technology
- work 9-5 PST, Remote is fine.
