Summary
As a Network Engineer for 7Sigma Systems, Inc, you are an Engineer within the team. The Network Engineer is directly responsible for primarily working on ISP networks, Cisco or equivalent network gear, FTTH, VoIP telephony, monitoring systems,  documentation, as well as basic internal systems.   A working knowledge of Linux, HTML, MySQL, Apache, and Radius would be a plus.  This position requires someone that is a Self Starter and Self Disciplined. The ability to work quickly and with high attention to detail is a must.
Technical Requirements:
  • Experience with all levels of network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, access gear, etc)
  • Experience with service provider supporting services (DNS, DHCP, Monitoring)
  • Experience supporting and working with environments supported by service providers
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, QoS, MPLS, OSPF, STP, BGP, VPN, etc)
  • Strong understanding of network security
  • Demonstrated technical documentation ability

Working Conditions:
  • Home Office 99%
  • Minimal Travel 1%
  • Overnight maintenance required (maximum one per week)
Education and Training Requirements: 
Applicants must have an AA degree, or a 4 year degree in computer science, management information systems, computer technology, computer engineering, telecommunications, or a related degree, or the equivalent in real world experience.  Access to reliable high-speed internet is also required along with a dedicated work environment. Although the ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge, we are willing to look at self starters who have a significant aptitude to learn.
