Scalable Path is looking for a Senior Python/Django Developer with DevOps Experience to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position but the client is also open to developers who are available part-time (20 hours/week) and that are looking to move into a full-time role in the near future.
The pay rate for this role is from $40 - $75 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability.
CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:The client is a startup in the education space and creates digital worksheets for teachers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The application has been recently launched and is growing at an exciting pace. Therefore the client is now looking for a Senior Python Developer who prefers to work with backend and infrastructure-related tasks.You will be creating new features and maintaining the backend of a Django application including an API. You will be coding server-rendered pages and you will be responsible for ensuring that the application is deployed and running properly on AWS. Moreover, you need to have experience dealing with high traffic applications.The client is currently using Slack for communication and Trello for task tracking. The code is in Git.RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:You will be reporting to the CTO and working with a team of 3.5 engineers. The client is in the America/New York (-04:00) EDT time zone.REQUIRED SKILLS:- Strong English communication skills- Python (Django)- PostgreSQL- Experience deploying and managing web applications on AWS- Experience with Elastic Beanstalk and S3- Experience with high traffic sites- Special Interest with DevOps/Infrastructure related tasks- Basic JavaScript for interactivity on server-rendered pages- Git- HTML- CSS- JavaScriptDESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (such as React)START DATE:As soon as possible.EXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:The project will last at least 3 months and potentially longer.
