Software Engineer Team Leader (Java Integration Team)

We are Ocado Technology. We are building the software which powers our next-generation robotic picking and storage solution. This solution is a core component of our Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) which are offered as part of the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP). OSP is being marketed to retailers globally as a world-class platform for grocery eCommerce.
The Perception Robotics department aims to automate physical processes that require sensing and judgment through the use of robotics and machine vision.
As a Team Leader in our Robotic Systems Integration team, you will:
Actively participate in the design and development of back-end integration solutions (mostly in Java) internal for the robotic pick stations and between larger CFC systems.
Grow, develop and lead the Robotic Systems Integration team.
Optimize the delivery process, the tooling and techniques to achieve fast and robust delivery.
Effectively communicate with other teams and stakeholders across Ocado locations (Product teams, Research teams, UX, other R&D teams etc.).
You will be working actively within Ocado Sofia dev center leadership to build a great place to work (contributing to processes like recruitment, branding, induction etc.).
Requirements for the position:
Essential
Organisational and interpersonal skills with a can-do mindset.
Strong technical hands-on background in building enterprise-grade backend systems, preferably in Java.
Architectural awareness for systems that are dynamically evolving and are built to last (micro-services, messaging, API design, DB solutions, networking, scalability, monitoring, logging).
To “feel at home” optimising CI/CD processes and achieve a state of the art quality of service and the underlying codebase.
Deep knowledge in software testing and related processes and tooling.
Internal motivation to achieve our common vision as a team.
