Job Summary
We are building a dynamic team of engineers to tackle interesting and new software problems out of our Reston, VA office. Our customers have unique needs and look to our engineers to bring together and adapt existing technology to help them accomplish their goals. Our engineers can dynamically learn new skills know how to bring tools and techniques from other domains to solve these problems.
Our next big project involves the real-time processing of video data on an Android platform. We're looking for engineers with experience in Android application debugging and development, familiarity with image and video processing, or the aptitude to get up to speed quickly in these domains. We are looking to you to make key technology selections, which will include doing a full evaluation of third-party Android APIs and creating prototype apps demonstrating them. You'll get a chance to work closely with video and machine learning experts and make early design decisions on a high impact project.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prototype new approaches. To tackle complex problems, we try out lots of different approaches.
- Integrate our research. Take the best approach and integrate it into the rest of the project.
- Break out tasks. Help deconstruct complex tasks into sprint-sized chunks of work so the team can work together.
- Demonstrate our awesomeness. Be ready to show off the team's progress every sprint.
- Day-to-day: Work on something new, integrate something that works, reach out for help in person or on Slack, just let everyone know at the standup what you're working on.
- R&D is the future of the company. What we accomplish today will be in the next generation of our products.
Qualifications and Skills
- Work with new technology. Ability to get up to speed quickly with new technology and apply it to our problems.
- Android programming with Java or Kotlin - 5 years experience.
- C/C++ programming (or Java NDK) - 2 years experience.
- Experience integrating third party Android APIs (Desired)
- Reverse engineering experience (Desired)
- Video processing experience (Desired)
- Android library experience (Desired)
- Mobile user interface experience (Desired)
