Job description
  • We are looking for a technical team leader to head up one of our core team of Developers at Veeqo.
  • You will lead a team of Engineers to deliver on the product road map, providing both technical guidance to the team and making key architectural decisions in how things are implemented.
  • Maintain a short and constant feedback loop to Engineers providing regular PR reviews for submitted code.
  • Communicate effectively with other key stakeholders such as Product Managers, Support Agents and Senior Management to advise on technical implementations of feature requests or bug fixes.
  • Ability to provide rough estimates on delivery time to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure developers are able to perform all related tasks while giving clear guidance on career progression and achievable SMART objectives that will enhance their skill sets while providing real business value to Veeqo.
  • Champion the cause of Engineering excellence.
What do we expect from you
  • Very strong knowledge of Ruby programming language and Ruby on Rails framework
  • Ability to work with a remote team
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • Solid experience of managing applications at scale
  • Enjoys autonomy. Thrives on independent work with limited oversight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain critical thinking while balancing multiple tasks
  • Desire to build and maintain scalable, readable and secure code
  • Experience in training and providing technical mentorship to more junior engineers
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong, intellectual curiosity.
Nice to haves
  • Experience in working within the e-commerce space
  • An understanding of the order fulfilment process for online retailers
