QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in computer science, information systems or related field
  • First professional experience in data manipulation/ETL
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
  • Basic programming skills in at least two programming languages: VBA, R or Python, willingness to learn the third one
  • Experience with Databricks, Scala and streaming data in Kafka/Kinesis would be a plus
  • Strong coding knowledge/ abilities in the field of large data handling through Microsoft SQL (T-SQL), Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, data manipulation and ETL tools using Alteryx; alongside knowledge of VBA/Macros
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data lake concepts and Tableau dashboards, visualizations, etc.
  • Knowledge of databases, such as Access and SQL is helpful
  • Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You’ll be based in our Lisbon or Wroclaw office and will be part of our Client Capabilities Network (CCN).You’ll be part of a team of data engineers and will play a key role in data transformations, analysis and delivery.
As a Data Engineer you will develop an expertise in an industry (e.g. Advanced Industries, Energy & Materials, Banking, Insurance, Consumer, Telecommunications, Pharma, Private Equity) or business function (Marketing and Sales, Operations, Corporate Finance, Risk, Digital, Transformation, Sustainability) that is of interest to you and aligned to your background. Leaders in these groups will provide mentorship and sponsorship and help you further build your capabilities.
Our more than 2,500 client capabilities professionals across the globe work alongside our consultants to deliver Change that Matters to our clients. They support our consultant teams, both remotely and at client sites, in an agile and targeted way. Further, they are core to our firm’s R&D, developing new knowledge and building and refining proprietary capabilities (e.g., assets, data sets), as well as curating, managing, and maintaining them. Our portfolio includes state-of-the-art research, asset-backed and rapid diagnostics, benchmarking, and workflow support. Our professionals have deep expertise and are able to apply a broad range of methodologies for specialized on-demand analyses.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will work on various projects related to data transformation, configuration, design and development.
In this role you’ll also test bespoken analytics tools, applications and platforms as well as develop database solutions.
A typical project that you will be part of involves project scoping, data identification and extraction, data processing, engineering and enrichment, data cleansing and categorization, handover, insights presentation and capability building. Each project will give you an opportunity to enhance your technical skills and gain new ones. You will stay in constant contact with clients to ensure an effective data handover, transformation and analysis and final results presentation.
You will conduct data assessment, perform data quality checks and transform and load raw data using SQL and ETL tools. With your experience in data engineering and data modeling, you will build sustainable data pipelines and adjust them as needed.
In addition to project delivery, you will contribute to, and often times, lead operational improvements within exiting solutions. You’ll help build out further proprietary solutions or data assets, while identifying new technologies, trends, or alternative vendors to work with.
