Position Description: Procurement Manager
Buyer is growing incredibly quickly, so as our Procurement Manager you will have a direct and critical impact on the growth of the company. You will succeed in this role if you have a passion for negotiation, and love obtaining true value - it is more than just about the price. Our ideal candidate is comfortable under pressure and understands that the lowest price is not always the best price, and as a result strives to get the best price and terms for our customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Buy and renew software, negotiate professional service contracts and for tech focused rapid growth companies. 
  • Work directly with key client stakeholders to understand and deliver on their objectives,  budget, and preferred terms. 
  • Manage all commercial conversations and work directly with our customer’s vendors to ensure renewal objectives are achieved.
  • Manage deals from initial conversation to legal review and final signature. 
  • Regularly update customers and Buyer’s internal Project Managers on deal progression, learnings, data, and suggest strategies for contract improvements.
  • Work side-by-side with the Project Managers to ensure customers are satisfied and savings targets are being met. 
  • Work with Buyer’s Product Manager, Founder, and Project Managers to help us improve and evolve our product, service, and processes.
  • Attention to detail is one of your superpowers: it will be your responsibility to intensely examine contracts, proposals, and email threads.

As a growing company, it is essential that this role will be filled by someone who:
  • Is a proven doer of things. In your cover letter please provide examples of when you took initiative outside your standard expected tasks that had a wider impact.
  • Is an excellent communicator: both in negotiations and outside of them. You have high EQ, and impressive self-awareness.
  • Has a high level of organization, follow-through, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Is obsessed with detail; you lose sleep if you spell something wrong in an email after hitting send. 
  • Is focused, reliable, and a responsible self-starter that can self-manage with strong critical problem solving skills.
  • Is able to context-switch on a dime. You are well known for being able to think on your feet. You are comfortable juggling competing priorities. 
  • Has experience working in B2B sales and as an account manager with a comprehensive understanding of various pricing models. 
  • Is confident working in Google sheets, docs, Gmail, CRM’s, Slack, and other SaaS tools etc.
  • Demonstrates a passion for emerging technology and enthusiasm for working with our customers to help solve problems as we innovate in our field.

Important Info:
Full-time Contract
Salary dependant based on experience. 
Remote OK - Location preference is Victoria B.C. (not required).
Timeline:
First month - Get an understanding of how Buyer works, learn our internal processes, and shadow negotiations.  
Three months - You independently manage several client accounts and have contributed to achieving savings goals for your clients. 
Six months -  You’re an integral part of the team, meeting savings goals and working with leadership to improve processes and ensure our clients are thriving.
