We’re a group of emoji-loving, gif-using, finance-obsessed individuals dedicated to the mission of teaching people how to make more money with side hustles, freelancing, online business and investing. We’re looking for someone who is a highly experienced WordPress & PHP developer with a solid eye for UX design and accessibility to aid us with reaching that goal. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to strategize and execute design and code updates to the site
- Extend capabilities of our custom WordPress layouts built with Thrive Architect
- Respond to bugs in a timely manner
- Be on the lookout for places to improve existing functionality
- Take ownership of the appearance and functionality of the site, raising awareness to the team and project owners when issues arise
- Suggest improvements to the overall development process and how to implement it (aka we want your expertise as to how we can do this better)
Requirements
- Writing maintainable code
- Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards
- Experience with PHP, MySQL, CSS, JS (jQuery)
- Wordpress
- Actions & filters
- Custom plugins & themes
- Git/Version control
- Comfortable working in command line interfaces & using SSH
Ideal but not necessary
Design
If you don’t do this but can refer someone who can, please let us know
- Understanding of UX principles and ability to understand the needs of users
- Experience designing from scratch (not just from templates)
- Portfolio of custom design work
Dev
- Experience with the Genesis framework
- Experience with Thrive Architect
- Knowledge of optimizing sites for speed
- Technical SEO knowledge
Other requirements:
- Self motivated
- Organized
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in both verbal and written English
