Product Designer

Brilliant

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team.
Reporting to our VP of Product, you’ll have an opportunity to collaborate cross functionally and contribute to defining the “what” as well as the “how.”  You will work end to end- everything from discovery, research, prototyping, UX, IxD, to visual design.  You know the tools and the process, but you design for humans. You will work as a true partner to an Engineering Lead and a Product Manager to define what we want to build, and how we’re going to build it, right from the beginning of every initiative
Responsibilities:
  • Design cohesive product experiences across the Brilliant platform
  • Lead and champion design within the company and identify opportunities to scale our processes
  • Build our research process to allow us to conduct research, quickly test and capture user feedback
  • Design user interfaces that are easy to understand and beautifully crafted
  • Broaden the scope of design within the company by facilitating cross-functional discovery, research, and ideation sessions
  • Partner with Engineering Leads and Product Managers to define, scope, and iterate on implementation of products
  • Aid in defining product strategy and roadmaps
  • Deliver storyboards, wireframes, user flows, and high fidelity design specs to facilitate incremental progress towards the vision
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, user experience, or a related field
  • A customer champion and practitioner of design methodologies with a deep understanding of digital product development
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and is driven by a balance of user research and data
  • An excellent listener and communicator who is open to feedback and continuous improvement
  • High attention to detail; are comfortable independently multitasking and prioritizing projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated depth in UX and UI
  • Experience leading an end to end design process
  • Bonus for experience in implementing product designs from a functional and aesthetic perspective
