Firmware Engineer for NovationBased: High Wycombe, London or Remote (UK Only)Term: Full-time, PermanentSalary: Depending on Experience
Are you an Embedded Software engineer looking to join an innovative team with a passion for creating audio products in applications including live music performance, studio recording and education?
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for developing high quality embedded software for our midi controller, synthesiser and groovebox products. You will be involved in the whole product lifecycle; refining product specifications, producing innovative designs, generating complexity/work estimates, fixing issues and engaging with a multidiscipline team. Project work is typically managed in a combination of stage gated and scrum methodologies to suit the technical discipline and project complexity. In order to be successful in your application for this role you will need:
  • Competent coding skills in C (and ideally C++)
  • An understanding of embedded firmware architecture and ability to balance technical trade-offs
  • A commitment to continual improvement, both personal and of the wider team
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences
It would be advantageous if you have some of the following:
  • Embedded processor experience on Cortex M or Xtensa (Cortex A would also be useful)
  • Knowledge of bare metal and RTOS software designs (Embedded Linux experience would also be useful)
  • Familiarity with wireless communications technology (e.g. BT, WiFi)
  • A technical or engineering-based degree and 2+ years of industry experience in firmware development projects.
  • Experience of working using Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Test driven development (TDD); unit, integration, automated and system testing experience
  • Understanding of code management systems e.g. Git, Mercurial, SVN,
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, specifically Jenkins and Artifactory
