If you’ve answered yes to all the above, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for the right person to join our QA Team in a new role, working with the drivers that help to power our industry-leading audio products.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will take ownership of testing our audio and MIDI device drivers, primarily on Microsoft Windows, but with some Mac testing too.
You will work within an agile framework, and act as the bridge between the Driver Development and QA Teams. You will work closely with Software Developers, Product Owners, QA Engineers, and Software Developers in Test, contributing to all aspects of delivering new and updated drivers that make it easier for our customers to use and enjoy our products.
You will be working closely with our Senior Driver Developer, gaining detailed domain knowledge about audio, MIDI, driver, and system interactions, as well as bringing your own expertise to the role.
Key activities include:
  • Defining the scope of QA/Test activities across our device drivers
  • Implementing automated testing wherever appropriate to enable more efficient regression testing, and working to augment existing automated test approaches
  • Generating and executing robust, well documented, and maintainable functional, non-functional, and user acceptance tests
  • Reproducing issues, reporting and triaging bugs, and analyzing crashes
  • Logging and profiling driver and hardware performance  
An ideal candidate is likely to be:
  • From a test or QA background, with demonstrable professional experience
  • A clear communicator, used to working in an Agile development team
  • Methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to tasks, and a passion for problem solving
  • Competent in at least one scripting language
  • Comfortable with basic C/C++ syntax
  • Familiar with both computer hardware and software
Awareness of some of the following concepts and technologies would also be useful:
  • Source Control (e.g. Git)
  • Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins or GitHub Actions)
  • OS concepts (e.g. kernel, DPC, virtual memory, APIs)
  • Analysing crash dumps
  • Low-level device concepts (e.g. buses and interrupts)
