AutoFile Filing Operations Specialist

As an AutoFile Specialist on the Filing Operations team, you will be part of our core filing team responsible for remitting sales and use tax returns timely and accurately to the various State Departments of Revenue every month.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately complete a high volume of sales and use tax returns monthly in a variety of states and complexities
- Stay up-to-date with operational as well as State Department of Revenue changes impacting sales and use tax return filing
- Complete special projects (state research, planning tasks for future filing months, proposing workflow improvements, changing customer filing frequencies, et al) per provided training
- Stay organized, focused, and on top of deadlines, clearly communicating anything blocking your progress, production, or efficiency
- Communicate effectively with teammates in a fast-paced environment
- Suggest improvements that increase the team’s efficiency and accuracy
- Be willing to jump in and help the team however needed
Job Requirements:
- Meticulously organized and able to follow key quality control processes
- Excellent deadline and workload management skills
- Hungry, reliable, enthusiastic, empathetic, and humble (no egos, please)
- Open, accountable, and receptive to feedback
- Passionate about learning and taking on new challenges including complex filings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and self-motivated team player able to work well in synchronous and asynchronous situations
- Keen eye for detail
- Comfortable with a large volume of repetitive work
- Ability to learn new software quickly, efficiently, and effectively
- Agility in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to prioritize/de-prioritize tasks as they arise
Bonus Skills (Nice to have but not needed! We’ll train you):
- Sales and use tax filing experience
- Bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Microsoft Excel skills (Numbers or Sheets are great too)
