To start, we’re building the modern health plan for small businesses — a segment of the market that has long been overlooked and underserved.
The Engineering team is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help us achieve that goal. Do you love building performant web apps in an efficient and sustainable way? The Senior Frontend Engineer will need to participate in a collaborative effort to build a thoughtful, modern and extensible framework for our web apps that drives the behaviors that lead to reduced costs and improved outcomes for our members.

What you'll do:
- Work with our Product Manager and Designer to turn designs and wireframes into high-quality, pixel-perfect UIs for new customer-facing web apps
- Work with the Backend team to integrate into our data platform
- Take over development and maintenance on our existing internal- and customer-facing React apps from our current contract-based team
- Launch two new products in the first six months (with more coming!)
- Build the foundational layer for our future products by setting the standards for code quality and modularity
- Help create project estimates, define scope requirements and structure projects
- Use software analytics to make recommendations for product priorities based on data
- Present your work to the company during our monthly demo days
- Participate in our hiring process as our team grows
- Join the team for our quarterly in-person meetup in rotating cities around the country
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you should have:
- Expertise in developing web apps using JavaScript
- A thorough understanding of React and its core patterns
- Knowledge of best-practices and architectural patterns for modern web apps
- Knowledge of UX and Visual Design concepts
- Familiarity with modern design tools like Figma, Sketch or Invision
- Mindfulness, compassion and respect for themselves and others
- The ability to work with minimal oversight in an asynchronous team environment
- The ability to foster communication and collaboration with design, product and engineering
- A willingness to give voice to strongly held views on product development
- Interest in learning from and teaching others
- Calm in the face of change at a fast-moving, seed-stage startup
