Front-End Developer

We’re looking for a front-end developer with strong skills and diverse experience to work on some of our web applications and sites. We’re a small team that works horizontally. You would be working together with the backend developers, designers, and the product manager. We’re fully remote and spread across the globe and we rely a lot on asynchronous communication.
The Job
For the most part, you would be working on one of our bigger web applications, but also on smaller web applications and sites as the pipeline allows. Your workload would be split between new features and maintenance work. Maintenance work would include fixing/improving legacy implementations as well as refactoring to modern code.
Our current frontend stack is varied, but we’ve been focusing on native Web Components and ES6 lately. You would be able to bring knowledge and capacity to keep us moving on this path. In a general sense, we’re not focused on working with a frontend framework unless it’s for native apps (i.e.: React Native).
Skills
We understand that developers have different strengths and backgrounds. We believe there’s no right set of skills, but the right fit. With that in mind, here’s a general list of skills we would like to see.
  • Experience with CSS/SASS + HTML
  • Knowledge of native JavaScript/ES6
  • Comfortable working without a framework (or the willingness to go that route)
  • Focus and understanding of frontend security
  • Knowledge of WCAG
  • Some past experience with jQuery might help in legacy work
  • UI/UX skills would help in workflow and broaden possibilities 
  • Frontend testing knowledge would be a great bonus
  • Docker and Git experience would make your life easier
