Location: Your manager is located in Portland, OR with team members dispersed remotely. This is a remote position that is based in the United States.

Can you translate current events and trends into engaging, on-brand social content? Do you want to help create safe, engaging, and inclusive online communities? Are you excited to develop partnerships with social influencers? If you’re a social media professional with extensive experience communicating with LGBTQ+ communities, we want to meet you. As the Social Media and Influencer Marketing Specialist, you will get to work across all of our brands and run all of their social media accounts.

This role requires a demonstrated history of working closely with LGBTQ+ communities. An understanding of LGBTQ+ civil rights movements throughout history and in the present day is essential. We seek someone with extensive expertise around moderating homophobia, transphobia, and other bigotry on social media and other public channels, and a track record of crafting successful communications for LGBTQ+ audiences. We believe the most strategic growth opportunity to promote .gay is via influencer marketing, which you will oversee. You will identify advertising opportunities, lead implementation, work within a budget, and track results with the team. This will be an iterative process, with ample opportunity to experiment and lean in further to successful strategies. In addition to influencer marketing, you will manage and grow the social presence for .gay while setting strategy and leading daily work for the other brands. Currently, only .gay and Porkbun have social accounts that are active on a regular basis, but we hope that once you’re fully onboarded, you will be ready and eager to develop our other brands’ social presence via existing and new accounts. This could include accounts on both established and emerging social platforms. 

Within your daily content role, you will post content on our social channels and tag all relevant partners and collaborators, boost posts for better engagement, share content to stories, engage on platforms to attract new followers, moderate comments to encourage respectful and positive conversations, ban trolls and bad actors, moderate inboxes to reply to questions or redirect to other team members as necessary, and research cultural trends to inform our future storytelling. Your success will ultimately drive registrations of our domain names.
