Requirements
What will you do? (The role)
We're searching for a Legal Counsel with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to resolve a wide range of complex matters across 150 countries, independently and by engaging local counsel.
This is a strategic role within Omnipresent that unlocks our ability to deliver global legal solutions to a global audience.
You aren't a typical legal expert - you are eager to build the product and help bring it to market, not just advise or break down processes. You'd rather work with Product Management and Engineers to create massive change in messy environments than create and manage pretty documents and diagrams.
You will be a pivotal and highly involved member of an empowered innovation team that is disrupting the infrastructure of the global employment industry.
You will obsess over the customer experience and look for solutions both inside and outside the company to solve their needs. In doing so you will interact with all aspects of the company - from Sales, Finance, Payroll, Operations, Legal to just about everyone - to conceptualise and implement your novel solutions.
Specifically, you will:
  • Analyse existing legal processes and unbundle them to understand how can we repackage them to deliver the same business value at 100x the efficiency and speed.
  • Horizon-scanning, especially for notable regulatory developments in Employment law
  • Innovate to find new and better ways of delivering our services.
  • Work with everyone in the company, from product managers and sales to scope software and processes that will support exponential business growth.
  • Work with other product teams to identify and manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Be a part of the delivery team to ensure operational, regulatory and organisational delivery complexities are managed.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit business, legal and functional requirements.
  • Advise on our internal team from a legal perspective
💡 If you are not an experienced lawyer please do not apply!
What are you great at? (Previous experience)
  • Pragmatism: You understand and are deliberate about making trade-offs between exploration and exploitation. You can iteratively define the scope of process and software respectively to ensure both nimble business value delivery, as well as consistency with the strategic goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Your communication skills build bridges. You extract requirements from those you can't express them clearly, then clearly document them. You can explain legal concepts to non-legal people, and business concepts to engineers, designers or sales, and reach consensus in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Building alongside others: you enjoy being a proactive member of a team focused on creating new user-centric products.
  • Out of the box thinker: you are able to break down complex legal processes and problems and can quickly digest complex information.
  • Systems thinking: you are able to understand both the big picture and the small details, and can comfortably understand the implications of one on the other.
  • You are inquisitive and detail-oriented. You are not satisfied with the easy answer, but you dig deep to uncover crucial insights.
  • Fast delivery: You love working in a fast-paced environment, pushing existing boundaries and constantly creating new value.
