Grants Administrator

Dimagi is looking to hire a Grants Administrator. The ideal candidate will be based out of Dimagi’s headquarters in Cambridge, MA, but this position is also flexible to remote work for the right candidate.
The Grants Administrator manages the financial, contractual, and administrative requirements of Dimagi’s USAID and other government-funded projects. As a member of the global Finance team, this role also requires additional ongoing coordination with colleagues based in other country offices as well as field staff, including regular morning meetings. The Grants Administrator will report to the Financial Contract Associate.
What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and monthly cash fund requests in close coordination with senior project staff
  • Maintain financial reporting and tracking systems that provide data measurements on the financial performance of project activities
  • Draft budgets with support from senior team members
  • Provide ongoing financial administration to the project, including the processing of approvals for procurements, consultant agreements, and vendor invoices
  • Raise Time and Material invoices with supporting documentation
  • Communicate and coordinate with external project Financial officers, Internal Project Managers, and Management
  • Maintain annual Indirect Cost Rates documentation and back-office support
  • Support annual A-133 audit
  • Work in a fast-paced environment which requires excellent email management
    Who You Must Be:
    • Tech Savvy, with at least moderate MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Solver/What If Analysis) OR desire to learn new excel skills
    • Highly flexible, and able to adapt easily to new processes
    • An independent team player who loves problem-solving independently while supporting a global team
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Excellent Communication skills
    • A holder of a BA/BS Degree with experience in Accounting or Finance, OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Skilled in the ability to self-organize, self-manage, and work with a team
    • Enjoy working in a young, collegiate, and collaborative environment, and want to contribute to an organization trying to make a difference in International Development
    Bonus Points:
    • Knowledge of U.S. government Cost Accounting Standards
    • Knowledge of U.S. government contracts, with a minimum of one year of experience working in financial and contractual aspects of large international development projects
    • Familiarity/Experience and interest in Financial Audits and Requirements (in particular, knowledge of Uniform Guidance Single Audits) as well as NICRA or indirect cost-rates
    • Experience with contract review on USAID projects and/or the Gates Foundation
    • Prior exposure to financial reporting or tracking systems
    • Experience working with an international team and global field staff
    • Experience working remotely and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
    • Want to work for a social enterprise with long-term employment in operations
