Everyday Speech is a leader in Social-Emotional Learning. Primarily a teaching solution for public schools, our Social-Emotional Learning Platform (SELP) provides educators with curriculum materials for students of ALL ages across special education and general education classes. Our curriculums teach students the strategies and life skills they need to regulate their emotions, solve problems, cope with the stresses of modern life, and interact with the world around them. Our platform is used by 25,000+ educators at public schools and private educational institutions around the world.
In this temporary freelance role, we are looking for someone to work approximately 30 hours a week starting September 25th and going through approximately the beginning of February 2024.The freelance illustrator will:
- Help create a consistent brand identity for the different content types we produce
- Work collaboratively with a highly creative design team on various projects of different natures where you’ll be asked to brainstorm and come up with concepts and ideas
- Be responsible to manage certain projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders on the status and requirements
As a member of the Content Department, the freelance illustrator will be responsible for satisfying different design needs by creating assets for printable materials, interactive games and educational videos, supporting the Marketing team with graphics for our marketing channels, websites and campaigns, and working with the Clinical team by creating designs of new emojis, skill icons and other printables for our lessons.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide graphic design and illustration services
- Clinical designs such as goal posters and other documents layouts
- Content Department design needs, such as video and game assets
- Marketing website elements and campaigns
- Prepare designs for upload
Create new graphic templates
- Templatize recurring design elements
- Update old templates as needed
- Help improve guides and tutorials in Tettra Library
Assist with new design projects
- Brainstorm new design types
- Execute tasks for new projects owned by Mid-level or Senior Illustrator, or Design Manager
Assist with new design projects
- Execute everyday tasks
- Manage small projects when required
Experience in/have:
- Good understanding and use of Figma
- Good understanding and use of Illustrator
- Good understanding and use of Photoshop
- Good understanding and use of InDesign (with an emphasis on design for print)
- Strong digital illustration skills
- Demonstrated understanding of inclusive design concepts
- Strong knowledge of creative processes
- Basic experience on project management
- 3 to 4 years experience working as an illustrator in a professional setting
- English level: medium-high
For this role, we’re open to US and international (contractor) hires, but you must be able to work US / ET hours with at least a 4-hour overlap between 9am-1pm EST and we are only considering candidates in time zone within a 5 hour span (earlier or later) than EST.
Pay: $25 USD per hour
