Our company culture Lights the way for you to Be Brilliant, Productive and ConnectedHow You Will ContributeWe have an immediate need for a talented and enthusiastic individual to be a hands-on Data Platform Lead and thought leader for our Cloud Database Engineering Team. This individual will help us transform Acuity Brands’ data and analytics platform using the Microsoft Azure Cloud. This position will be responsible for helping the team design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve current solutions while architecting innovative solutions to drive a modern data platform. Day to day the Data Platform Lead will lead system architectures, mentor, and train team members on updated technology, develop standards for the platform, manage deliverables through technical and functional directions and adhere to the defined security requirements.Qualified ApplicantsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical/analytical field
- 5+ years required in the following:
- Strong experience in database modeling, as well as proficiency in SQL development
- Strong experience with Python and/or Power Shell
- Experience with Graph databases such as Cosmos DB or Neo4j
- Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, replication, and data security
- Experience with data lake architecture
- Experience with Azure/AWS cloud data platforms
- Experience with ETL processes and performance tuning
- Experience overseeing multiple projects from a technical perspective
- Experience with Scrum/agile tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
